The NJ4 70's Wind pickups are a variant of Nordstrands highly acclaimed NJ4 set. The main difference is the use of enamel wire instead of the Heavy Formvar wire found in the standard NJ4 pickups. These are vintage single coil J style pickups made with 70 s era correct enamel wire and Alnico V magnets.

Specialty hand-wound pickups from Germany for a truly authentic vintage tone. As with the Stratocasters and Telecasters the pickups for the Jazz Bass were wound with less wire. The result was a different but by no means inferior sound. The sound of the JB 71 Set is somewhat wiry, lighter and a little airier. The midrange is not as powerful or far-reaching in bass as the JB 61.
